Hello, I am Callie,
I am very excited to join the faculty of Zimmer Preschool. I believe that a teacher’s job is to view each individual child’s potential through the lens of a growth mindset, and to empower each to achieve his/her best. I strive to create a joyful classroom culture that encourages all the students to feel pride in themselves and their classmates and to love learning.
In my teaching career, I have spent over twenty years as a children’s theater director and acting teacher, and have taught Spanish, Jewish education, and music. In my most recent position at The Sundance School, I was the Educational Innovation and Technology Specialist, creating and teaching an inquiry-led STEAM curriculum for preschool - 5th grade students.
I completed my Bachelor's degree in Linguistics and Music at SUNY Albany, and hold two Master’s degrees in Education.
In my spare time, I play my guitar and sing, and reread Jane Austen novels. I have three grown-up daughters, two grandkids, and two dogs.

Kindergarten
Our Kindergarten and 1st grade program brings the unique flavor of Zimmer to grade school age. We follow NJ’s Core Curriculum Content Standards, but it is in how we teach that makes the difference.
Our program runs Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
This generous 6-hour day, our small class sizes, and highly adept teachers are some of the ingredients that make our program so effective.
To accommodate families who need extended hours beyond 9:00am to 3:00pm, we offer Early Care from 7:00am, and After Care until 6:00pm.
To ensure a seamless experience for our children, we communicate regularly with our parent body. In addition to the teachers’ availability to talk with parents when the need arises, we offer bi-weekly blogs with text and photographs; bi-annual teacher/parent conferences along with a written record (broken down according to NJ Core Curricular Standards, and a Narrative to bring those components to life); and a Portfolio created over the course of the year, showcasing your child’s growth in all aspects of development.
